Historic and technical information
Denomination :     7cm L/42 M 08 Origin :       ( Skoda)

Historic context :

The 7cm (66 mm) calibre was well represented in the Austro-Hungarian Navy with numerous embarked weapons of various barrel lengths. The '7cm L/42 M08' was a variant of the Navy gun '7cm L/42 M98', adapted in a coastal or fortress gun.

Manufactured by Skoda; this very long barrel gun was equipped with a large shield. It was mounted on a deformation carriage placed on a central pivot, resting on a small wagon sliding on a wedge. This assembly was fixed on a rotating platform. The inclined wedge allowed to hide or show the gun.
