Historic and technical information

Denomination :     6 pouces 190 pouds 1877 | Origin :       ( Obuchov)           | ||||
Historic context :
The main Russian artillery manufacturers of the end of the XIXth century (Putilov and Obuchov) showed little interest in the technological innovations that were happening particularly in Germany and in France. As a consequence, the guns that were available for the army far from being state of art, until the headquarters finally decided at the beginning of the XXth century to turn to foreign companies (mainly Krupp and Schneider) in order to get more modern weapons. |
