Historic and technical information
Denomination :     76.2mm M1910 pivot Origin :       ( Schneider)             ( Putilov )

Historic context :

The 3 inches M1909 Schneider-Danglis Mountain Gun was also adapted on pivots to be used in fortresses as a defence gun against attacking enemies (receiving the 'anti-storm' name). This design has been used on the few Garford-Putilov armored cars adopted by the Russian Army.

These later were heavy (11 tons) and underpowered (30 horse-power engines) armored vehicles armed with one such 76.2 gun under turret and 2 machine guns, with little off-road capability, based on US Garford trucks transformed by Putilov. These vehicles were used by Russia during WW1, but also by Germany once captured, and even by Freikorps in Germany in the 1920's.
