Historic context :

The '91 mm GR mine launcher' was a captured German Lanz minenwerfer with very little modifications made by the General M.F.Rosenberg. The meaning of its 'GR' name was a consequence of this birth process : 'Germano-Russki'.

It was massively produced in Russian plants. No less than 12 519 such GR mortars were produced between 1915 and 1916.
