The German name of that gun is self-speaking : the '10cm KiSL' (Kanone in Schirmlafette) designate the '10 cm gun turrets on shielded carriage'. These are short-recoil 105mm guns, assembled in armoured casings, initially designed for the Navy. That Army 'recycling' solution obeyed a cost-savings necessity !
