Nomenclature : '12 cm L/35 type schwere Kanone 79 (RingKanone)'

Origin : Germany

As far as I know, there is only 3 surviving examples of that gun throughout the world : 2 in Belgium, and 1 in Romania. Their exact identification is still subject to discussions, and the information gather here is still quite unprecise.

Manufactured by KRUPP, this '12 cm L/35' (L/35 = 35 calibres) type gun looks quite similar to the 12 cm sRK 79, whose shorter tube was only 23 calibres long, and was more commonly used. This kind of gun was obsolete yet at the beginning of the war, having no recoil recuperator system.

However, it was used during several years, as a solution to the ever climbing needs of fire power. It is a meaning that this tube was manufactured by hot binding several steel tubes of different diameters.
